Sharing

Sharing--I'm not sure how I feel about sharing. Norah loves to share with me. Every time I get something new, Norah likes to check it out. Here she is chewing her bone while lying on my new tummy-time rug from Aunt Julia.

Daddy loves to share, too. He even knows a sharing song: A sharing time is a happy time, a happy time, a happy time. We share our books and we share our toys. We have a happy time! Grandma Lou taught the song to Daddy when he was a little boy.

Mommy, on the other hand, does not like sharing. She says sharing is a good way to have other people wreck your things. Daddy tells her not to be so materialistic and dramatic. And then he sings her the sharing song. I don't think Mommy likes the song, cause she gets a disturbed look on her face when Daddy starts singing.

As for me? Well...I guess sharing isn't so bad. It's kind of fun sharing with Norah...

So much better...

Tummy-time was so much better today! I really enjoyed the rug that my Aunt Julia made for me. It's fluffy and catches my fingers when I'm playing. It's just great! Thank you Aunt Julia!!!

Mommy was kind of worried about me yesterday. She said I wasn't quite myself. She even went so far as to call Grandma Carolyn and Great-Mom-mom. The grandmas told Mommy to put me to bed, and after a good night's sleep, Mommy could reevaluate the situation. After nine and a half hours in my crib (the longest I've ever slept), I'm back to my normal self. We are having a wonderful day!

So...now that I'm feeling like me again...I was wondering...when are you coming to visit me?

PS: I'm hoping Mommy will have some time later today or tomorrow so she can help me post some more Colorado Christmas pictures.

We're home!

It was a long drive, but we are finally home! We left Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere's house last night around six. Mommy and Daddy planned to drive all night. However, they got very tired. We stopped at a hotel in Wichita, Kansas.

My first time ever in a hotel was quite fun. We had to sneak Norah into our room even though the sign said "no pets". Yep, we were rule-breakers! Mommy says it's not good to break the rules, but at the same time it's not good to let Norah freeze. I'm glad Daddy picked keeping Norah warm. Daddy stuffed Norah into Mommy's bag and then put a blanket on top of her; Norah kept trying to stick her head out of the bag. Mommy got worried that maybe there were cameras in the halls of the hotel. It was all rather exciting! Norah was pretty good--she only barked once, and she was in big trouble for that one little bark.

Once home, me and Mommy unpacked and got all of our laundry done. The clean clothes aren't put away yet; we'll do that tomorrow. After my fun week with the grandparents, I'm ready to have some Mommy-and-me-time. I'm a little bit clingy and super tired. But that's okay! I don't get to see grandma, grandpa, and the aunties very often. Mommy says it's a special treat to see them and not nap as often. We can always catch up when we get home. So that's what we'll do...catch up these next few days. Good thing I got some new books for Christmas; Mommy can read them to me while we're settling in after our fun trip.

Off to bed for me... I miss you Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere. Thanks for a fun time! Come and see me soon!

Without Me!!!

This morning I woke up only to discover that they celebrated Christmas without me! Yep, last night while I was sleeping, Aunt Joy and Uncle Seth drove into town. Since everyone was finally here, they opened up all of their presents AND all of MY presents! All of this happened while I was sleeping!!! Just because I'm little doesn't mean I don't care about Christmas. I mean, really! Come on people--cut the little guy some slack!

After the shock of me missing Christmas wore off, I took a look at my presents. I got some really fun things. Mostly I got toys. That's a good thing cause all my Mom usually lets me have is books. Let's face it; sometimes I need a break from reading! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa and the Aunties, I have some toys to play with now.

But the most coolest present is my tummy time rug from Aunt Julia. She made it special just for me. The rug is made from fluffy yarn in the colors of my room. I think tummy time might be a bit better now that I have my Aunt Julia rug.

Well...I'm bathed and ready for the day. I wonder what we're doing today? I overheard the word "shopping". I'm not sure what I think of shopping yet... Yesterday we did a lot of shopping at a really nice mall. Mommy bought some shoes, and Daddy got a sweater. I wonder what they'll buy today? Maybe something for me?

One more thing...

I almost forgot to tell you something exciting! Yesterday Daddy got me to laugh out loud. It was pretty cute, if I may say so myself!

Krinks

My krinks were clean this morning, so I put them on after my bath. Now Grandpa Jere and I are twins. Everyone thinks the baseball hat is cute. I'm not too sure...hats still aren't my favorite.

Horsey Rides

Grandpa Jere gave me horsey rides this morning. What fun it was! I smiled lots. I'm having fun with Grandpa Jere--He just might be one of my favorites.

Thumb vs. Fingers

Remember back when I found my thumb? Well, now I've found fingers, too! I like the thumb on my right hand and the fingers on my left hand. It's a good thing I have two hands!

Tailgating at the Broadmoor

Yesterday, since we weren't celebrating Christmas, we were desperate to find a way to have fun. We ended up tailgating at the Broadmoor.

Now you have to understand something about the Broadmoor Hotel. It is very posh. It is a five-star hotel. And last but not least, it is not a place where people usually tailgate. In fact, tailgating is frowned upon at the Broadmoor. Needless to say, there we were; eating our sandwiches out of the back of our Subaru complete with the Arkansas licence plates. (I'm afraid we may have looked a little bit redneck.)

Mommy thought the whole thing was pretty funny. Daddy was horrified. And I just slept through the whole event. What a Christmas it was!

Happy Christmas!

It's Christmas...but we're waiting until Wednesday to celebrate, so it doesn't really feel like Christmas.

I guess for me it kind of feels like Christmas, cause Grandpa Jere let me open a present! I was the only one allowed to do this. Inside of the present was what we Elliotts call "krinks". Krinks are warm-up pants that make a swish sound when you move. Elliotts call the swish sound "krink" instead of "swish", hence the name krinks!

Grandpa Jere wears krinks on vacations and weekends. Since Christmas is a vacation, Grandpa Jere is wearing krinks every day. He thought I needed a pair (so we could match), so he picked some out for me. They are very cute. They are in the washer right now getting clean, so I can wear them later today. I'm very excited to be twins with my Grandpa Jere.

Besides the krinks, there were also some really cool tennis shoes and a baseball cap inside of the present. I'm all set with for wearing my krinks. I've got the whole outfit!

Well...I hate to type and run, but I must. I'm going to have some lunch, and then we're going to walk around the lake at the Broadmoor Hotel. Fun, fun, fun! I hope you're having a good Christmas.

How many people does it take...

...to give a baby a bath? Well, at Grandma Lou's and Grandpa Jere's house it takes a LOT of people to get me clean. Today, everyone helped! I must have been extra dirty or something. I must say it was a wonderful bath; I enjoyed the extra company.

Today is my Great-Grandma Jeanne's birthday. She is my Grandpa Patrick's mommy. Since she was born on Christmas Eve, a day when people are thinking about Christmas and not birthdays, Great-Grandma Jeanne used to celebrate her birthday in July.

Even though today is Christmas Eve, we're not going to celebrate or open presents yet. We have to wait for Uncle Seth and Aunt Joy to come to town. They arrive on Tuesday evening, so that will be our "Christmas Eve" celebration. Mommy is sad about the delay in present opening, but she is being very brave. I'm pretty lucky, cause Grandpa Jere said I can open a present tomorrow before Uncle Seth and Aunt Joy arrive. I'm telling you it pays to be a baby!

Tonight Aunt Jenna comes in. I can't wait to meet her. Time for milk, so I must go... I'll blog again soon!

A lot can happen in twenty-four hours

What an adventuresome twenty-four hours! I have lots of things to tell you. We'd better take it from the top and start with the first thing...

Yesterday morning, Aunt Joy called to say that she and Uncle Seth's unborn baby is a boy! Yeah!!! Now I will have two boy cousins my same age. Noah lives in California, and my new cousin will live very close to me. What fun I will have playing with my cousins.

After the fun phone call, Mommy and I packed for our trip to Colorado. We had lots of things to do besides packing, because our friend Chris is staying at our house while we're gone. We finally finished with the packing by the time Daddy came home. And then we were off!

I did just great in the car on our LONG trip! Mommy and Daddy think I was so good because they are such great parents...I let them think whatever they want to think...We all know I was good because I'm good! :-)

We arrived in Colorado at 4 a.m. Everyone woke up to welcome us, and then we went back to bed. But we didn't sleep for too long, because we had to go to Grandpa Jere's work.

After my bath we went to Grandpa Jere's office. Let's just say I was a hit! Grandpa Jere took me all around and introduced me to all of his co-workers. I met my Great-Aunt Jan who said I remind her of my Daddy when he was little. And I met my friend Shelley. We had a lovely chat; Shelley is a great conversationalist. Lots of other people said hello to me, but I can't remember all the names. Anyway, after the office we went to lunch.

And now we're home. Grandma Lou is showing me my Christmas ornaments. Then we're going to read a story and take a nap. Mommy says I'll probably go to sleep quickly after my big day. I'd better get my nap over and done with, because I think Grandpa Jere is coming home soon, and he'll want to play!

A Smirk for Kristine

Happy Birthday cousin Kristine! Mommy tried to get me to smile for you, but all I had was a smirk! Mommy didn't think it was possible, but I was a little bit tired and wanted to rub my eyes rather than smile for the camera. Regardless, I still love you and can't wait to meet you!

Last night I slept for 9 1/2 hours straight! Mommy had to get up and check on me, because she woke up worried. When I finally woke up, I told her she was silly for checking on me in the night. Mommy is always saying, "I would love to sleep for a long stretch." And then when I make it happen, she's worried! Go figure! I didn't think my Mommy was that hard to please. :-)

Today we're catching up on laundry. Then we have some final Christmas errands to run. And then I'm going out to dinner with Mommy and Daddy! They're hoping I'm good at the resturant, but we'll see. I haven't decided if I'll be on my best behavior or not. Hum...such a big decision for such a little guy...

Christmas Stockings

Yesterday my new Christmas stocking arrived in the mail. I'm a lucky baby, cause I have two Christmas socks.

The first one is at my Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere's house. I haven't seen it yet, but Grandpa Jere says it's big enough for me to fit inside!

My second stocking lives at my house. Janet, Great Mom-mom's friend--they've known each other since elementary school--made the stocking for me. Everyone in my Mommy's family has the same stocking; Janet has made everybody one. It even has my name on it: J-A-M-E-Y. Very cool! Norah even has one.

Mommy and I stayed home today. We started a pot of bean soup, so our house would smell good. Then we watched the snowflakes; they didn't stick. Mommy was a little bit sad. And then my friend Spike came over!

Spike is so cute! We chatted some and then we took naps. Mommy forgot to take a picture until we were asleep, so we'll have to get together again soon for a photo shoot. Spike is adorable. He has the cutest tongue that he sticks out--it looks like he's licking his lips. I can't wait until we're big enough to go to the park together. I'm glad Mommy has friends who have kids my age.

Now we're waiting for Daddy to come home. He had a great day at work today. Tonight we might go to the store to buy some stocking stuffers. Mommy loves stockings. She told Daddy she had a "plan" for stockings. I think it scares Daddy a little bit every time Mommy says "I have a plan". It doesn't scare me; I'm always ready for Mommy's plans.

And, Great-Great Aunt Dee, could you remind Mommy what "frog" stands for? She says you gave me this frog sleeper so I could remember "frog", but she can't remember what the letters stand for. Silly Mommy!

Another Goodbye

Early this morning, we took Grandma Carolyn back to the airport. We were really pretty sad. It was so good to have Grandma Carolyn here for another visit. Somehow we've got to figure out how to keep having visits every two months!

After we got home, Mommy fed me while Daddy caught up on some sleep to get rid of his headache. While I was eating, I decided to "leak" all over Mommy! Yep, I made a pretty big mess! Mommy said I should have planned better. You see, Grandma Carolyn doesn't mind baby "fluid", but Mommy--she minds a lot! Mommy was pretty brave, and she got both of us cleaned up. It was one big mess! Mommy said she's tired of leaks, so she's moving me to the next diaper size. She's a clever Mommy; however, I'm sure I'll find a way to keep the leaks coming. :-)

Here's a picture of me all clean. I'm wearing my giraffe outfit from Grandma Lou. Bright colors are easiest for me to see, so this is a super fun sleeper to wear! (I like to rub my eyes when I'm tired. Mommy thinks it's cute.)

I'm off for a nap. We're going to my Dad's office party tonight. I'm sure I'll steal the show, so I'd better be rested up!

Talking with Grandma Carolyn

I told Grandma Carolyn lots of things today. I'm quite the chatter. I coo and goo when Grandma Carolyn talks with me--it's lots of fun.

I'm wearing my Christmas present from Great-Aunt Kendy, Great-Uncle Jim, Cousin Kristine, and Cousin K.C. It has trucks with wheels on it.

Since we're going to my other grandparents for Christmas instead of being at home, Grandma Carolyn and Mommy took down the Christmas decorations this morning. They got them all organized and labeled; that made Daddy really happy. And it will be nice for Mommy to come home to a clean and neat house.

Happy Birthday to Aunt Andrea! She's my cousin baby Noah's mommy. I can't wait to meet them! And I can't wait to meet my Uncle Rob; he tells great stories.

Well...Me and Mommy are going to help Grandma Carolyn pack. Not because we want to, but because it's time. We're being very brave, because hopefully we'll have another visit with Grandma Carolyn soon. What a fun time we had!

From the Aunties

Way, way back before I was born at my California baby shower, my aunties gave me these outfits. I wasn't able to wear them until now because I hadn't grown enough. Now I am big enough, so Mommy and Grandma Carolyn put me in the outfits today and took my picture!

The bug shirt is from my Aunt Tammy. Someday, Aunt Tammy said she's going to come and help me find some really neat looking bugs in my back yard. Mommy and Daddy said that was fine, cause bugs aren't their favorite thing.

Aunt Dyana gave me the camouflage pants and the little khaki shirt. Aunt Dyana works at the Gap and finds all kinds of cute things for babies to wear. Last night, Aunt Dyana called to find out what size I'm wearing these days. Could it be that she was out shopping for her nieces and nephews? I wonder... Daddy says Aunt Dyana's outfit is one of his favorites. That's why he's in the picture with me.

By the way, Grandma Carolyn thinks I'm starting to look more like my Daddy. When I was first born, she thought I looked like my Mommy. Who do you think I look like these days?

Grandma Carolyn and Me

I'm still having lots of fun with Grandma Carolyn. Here we are by the Christmas tree (our Christmas lights are broken... hum... I hope Mommy can fix them).

Grandma Carolyn brought me the rest of my California Christmas presents. These are my new overalls from Aunt Tammy. Mommy says I look really cute! I got some other clothes, too, but I have to grow into them. Although, I think I'll be wearing them sooner rather than later! Those Californians--they sure do like clothes! I'm one set baby!

Ouch!!!

Here I am after my doctor's appointment. The doctor said I am really healthy and growing just right! (I'm a little worn out.)

I now weight 13.2 pounds and measure 23 1/4 inches long (75% weight and 95% height percentiles). Mommy can't quite figure out where I got my height... Maybe from Uncle Tim and Great-Uncle John? We're just not sure how my height happened. My doctor said that each person is unique--I guess that explains it.

After all the measuring, the nurse came in and gave me some shots. I really did not like the needles. Mommy was proud of me, though. Mommy held my leg, and I stayed pretty still. Mommy was so nervous she forgot to talk me through the shots! Grandma Carolyn had to remind Mommy to lean over and give me kisses while the nurse "stuck" me. Good thing Grandma Carolyn was here (Mommy had planned it that way). As soon as the nurse finished, Mommy picked me up and held me close; I felt better then.

I've slept a little bit and eaten a little bit now. Mommy gave me some Tylenol to help me feel all better. The doctor said I might get a little fever, but for Mommy not to worry. Whew! I'm glad the shots are finished for a few months.

Oh--and the nurse put two really neat Snoopy band-aids on my legs. :-)

Two Months Old

Today I turned two months old. Like she did on my one month birthday, Mommy put on my Denver Broncos outfit. If you click on the November Archive (on the lower right), you can go back and compare pictures to see how I've grown. (The quilt is from my Aunt Elizabeth--she made if for me out of Peter Rabbit fabric and sent it with Grandma Carolyn.)

Grandma Carolyn thinks I might be able to squeeze into my Broncos outfit in a month, but after that, it won't fit me anymore. I'm really growing! Today we're going to the doctors to find out just how much I've grown.

Playing with Grandma Carolyn

Grandma Carolyn is here and we are having a wonderful time playing! In this picture, Grandma Carolyn is helping me get ready for bed. We decided to have a little chat before putting on my jammies. We talked about all kinds of things. I love talking, and I have lots to say.

Today we went through my closet and put away all the clothes that no longer fit me. Then we washed and hung up all the clothes in the next size. I have tons of clothes! Mommy is excited because she has a whole new wardrobe selection to dress me from. What is it about girls and clothes? Maybe Daddy knows why girls like clothes so much; I'll have to ask him.

Tomorrow is a big day for me. It's my two-month birthday. To celebrate, Mommy is taking me to the doctors. Actually it's not a celebration...I have to get some shots. YUCK! I have heard that shots aren't fun. Ava told me they sting a little bit. Mommy said she's not excited about the shots either. She went on to say that she might make Grandma Carolyn hold me for the needles--Mommy's a chicken! Mommy said she's mostly taking me to the doctors to find out how much I weigh. I'll let you know how the appointment goes.

For the Grandmas

Great-Grandma Maryalice gave this shirt to me, so I could wear it when my grandmas came right after I was born. Except that Mommy forgot to put the shirt on me. She says she had a few other things on her mind at the time.

Since we're picking up Grandma Carolyn from the airport tonight, and since it's the last time I'll see a grandma while I can still fit into the shirt, I'm wearing the shirt this evening.

Hello to all of my grandmas...I love each one of you very much!

Thumbs...

This morning, Mommy caught me sucking my thumb again. She was changing me, and I put my thumb in my mouth right in front of her. Of course, the first thing she did was grab the camera.

It's getting hard--thinking of new tricks everyday to amaze my parents...

Happy Birthday Aunt Jenna!

Today is someone's birthday--Aunt Jenna's! I haven't met my Aunt Jenna yet, but I get to meet her soon at Christmas time.

Mommy put my "auntie" bib on me this morning. My Aunt Tammy gave it to me before I was born, so I would remember Aunt Tammy loves me. Since I have so many aunties, it's a good thing I have an auntie bib.

I'm supposed to tell you that I haven't had my bath yet--that's why I'm "rumpley" in this picture. Mommy says bathtime will be after my next nap. Yeah--I love bathtime!

Tuesday, December 13, 2005

PS: weather.com says it might snow on Saturday. It would be really great if it snowed cause Grandma Carolyn would be here; and it doesn't snow where she lives, and if it snowed, we could play in the snow together. So...everybody wish for snow!

Tuesday

No picture for today. Truth be told, Mommy can't remember exactly where she put the camera. She can think of three places she needs to look, but I keep her so busy she hasn't looked in those places yet.

I didn't sleep through the night last night. I like to keep my parents guessing. Hum...I wonder what I'll do tonight? Will I sleep or will I eat?

After my morning bath, we met Jonathan and his Mommy for lunch. The baked potatoes were yummy! Jonathan is so big--he sits in a high chair, and he eats pasta!

The store was next on the agenda. I like going to the store, cause people say I'm cute! It's really quite flattering. After we picked out a frozen pizza for my dad, we headed home.

Mommy had her book club tonight, so Daddy and I had a guys night--that's why we needed the pizza! I'm not old enough for pizza yet, so Mommy had some milk in the freezer all ready for me. Daddy got the milk ready and put it in a bottle and tried to give me the bottle. I wasn't exactly sure what to do with the bottle, so I just chewed on it with my gums. A little milk came out; I slurped and made choking noises. It was all rather exciting and new. Finally, Mommy came home and Daddy put that silly bottle away. I guess we'll practice with the bottle again on another day.

Time for bed... I must sleep cause tomorrow is a big day. Grandma Carolyn comes to town AND it is Aunt Jenna's birthday! Two things in one day is a lot for a little guy like me.

I slept all night!!!

I didn't really mean to sleep all night because I really enjoy my midnight snack. I guess I was so tired last night, I forgot all about snacking.

Mommy fed me at 9 o'clock and then put me to bed. I didn't wake up until 5:30 this morning! My mommy was very excited! She's wondering if I'll sleep really long again tonight. I'm not telling...she'll have to wait and see!

They caught me!

After catching me yesterday with my thumb in my mouth, Mommy and Daddy were on a mission to catch me at it again! They snuck in on me at the end of my naptime, and snapped a picture. The flash kind of scared me, and I started to pull my thumb out of my mouth. Here's the picture they got. You can kind of see me sucking my right thumb.

Oh--and by the way, I'm eight weeks old today. I'm getting so big. :-)

Saturday, December 10, 2005

Finally!

Finally, I got to meet my friend Jonathan in person! Our mommies chat, and we read each other's blogs, but we had never met face to face. Today was the day it finally happened.

Jonathan turned one-year-old today. He had a party and everything! There was even cake with a candle and ice cream; Jonathan got to try the cake and blow out the candle. My Mommy said I have to wait until my birthday to try cake. My birthday isn't until October, and that is a very long time from now.

There were also presents at the party. We saw Jonathan open up a few; he got lots of really cool books. One book was about spiders and you could feel the web! Then we had to head home so I could have some milk. I think when I nap this afternoon, I'll be dreaming of cake and ice cream...

Kicking Feet

Baths have always been fun for me, but lately they have only gotten better. I've discovered splashing. When I'm bathing, I kick my feet and make fun splashing noises. It's just great!

Norah told me to splash lots now while they still think it's cute. Norah went on to say the grown-ups at our house don't appreciate splashing from two-year-olds--and Norah would know--she's two!

A big day for me!

I've been impressing my parents this morning. The first thing that I did was suck my thumb. When Daddy went in to get me up from my nap, he found me with my thumb in my mouth! This made my parents so happy. They've been wanting me to find my thumb ever since I was born.

I decided to top the thumb trick and really blow them away. I got ready, and then I rolled from my tummy to my back!!! You should have heard the two of them; they were louder than kids on Christmas morning! Dad got me to roll again and Mommy ran for the camera. Here are the pictures they snapped.

My parents are so easy to please. Anything I do qualifies me as an "advanced" baby in their book. They think I'm just the most wonderful and talented little thing (besides Norah, of course). I just let them think it--I wouldn't want to be the one to burst their bubble...

Henry and Ava

Ava is one of my girlfriends--actually I don't know very many girls--mostly I know boys. Her mommy and my mommy are friends, too. We both have bathrobes, and our mommies thought it would be fun to take bathrobe pictures. Here we are in our bathrobes.

My real name is Henry, and when I'm with Ava, Mommy likes to call me Henry. She thinks that "Ava and Henry" sounds like a cute old couple sitting on a bench in the park. My Mommy is silly!

Before pictures, and to celebrate the snow, I had lunch today with my friends Jake and Ava. Their mommies came, too. We had soup and sandwiches. Jake got a fun toy, and his lunch came in a lunch bag! Mommy said when I'm bigger, I can order the same thing. It was fun having lunch with my friends.

Snow? Well...kind of...

Seventeen degrees is what Mommy's outdoor thermometer said this morning when we were checking to see if we got any snow. It's freezing cold, but we only got a TINY bit of snow. Mommy says it hardly counts as my first snow.

Regardless, Mommy wrapped me up and we went outside to take pictures. Here's me, looking like a burrito, in the snow!

Mommy says maybe we'll get "real" snow at Christmas time when we're at Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere's house. She said Grandpa Jere has a snowplow, and when I'm old enough, I can help plow the driveway. I think I might be old enough right now. I'll have to check with Grandpa Jere.

Enough about the snow...or lack there of...

Yesterday I made Mommy really excited! She was playing with me while I was lying on my changing table. Mommy held up a toy and I grabbed it all by myself! Then I shook the toy to hear the little beads shake. Mommy was so excited!!! She called Daddy right away to share the news (he's on a trip). Oh how easy it is to impress my parents--they are so easy!

Sleepy and Snuggly

Today I am very sleepy and snuggly. Mommy likes days like this. She loves to snuggle me; however, most of the time I'd rather look around instead of snuggling.

I've looked around a little bit today, and I've had some tummy time, but now I'm ready to snuggle with Mommy (and my new blanket from Great Aunt Priscilla) while we read my book from Aunt Jenna. A cozy day waiting for the snow to come...

Will it come? We don't know! We don't think anyone really knows if it's going to snow in our little town. Mommy and I are still hoping...Norah's not...Mommy says she has to put her sweater back on if it snows, and we all know Norah doesn't like that sweater!

Oh--and only seven days until Grandma Carolyn flies in again! And then, after Grandma Carolyn's visit, we'll start the Christmas countdown! Life is pretty exciting around here.

Tuesday, December 06, 2005

Please let it snow!!!

Weather.com says we have a 70% chance of snow for tomorrow. Me and Mommy are VERY excited! And we will be very disappointed if weather.com is wrong!

If there's snow, Mommy has plans for a big photo shoot. She's already planning the shots and poses.

Oh, how we hope it snows...

Norah's New Sweater

Last week Norah got her hair cut. Mommy told the lady to give Norah a "winter cut", but we think Norah may have been given a summer cut instead.

With her hair being so short, Norah has been shivering. Mommy felt so bad for my buddy Norah. She decided to buy Norah a sweater. (We acknowledge the sweater is tacky, but hey, it was only $3.97 at Wal-Mart.)

Here's the thing about Norah and the sweater. Norah is convinced that when she is wearing the sweater she can't walk. It's as if Norah thinks the sweater is a full-body cast. When she has the sweater on, our dog just stands there with her back arched and looks at us with sad puppy eyes. And then Daddy takes off the sweater and we are back to shivering.

Hopefully Norah's hair will grow quickly. Until then, I'm sharing one of my blankets with Norah, because "a sharing time is a happy time".

Happy Birthday Uncle Seth!

Yesterday evening Daddy rocked me and played with me. Mommy snuck in and took a picture of us. I have such a great daddy. I love him and he loves me, and we like playing together. The other thing I like about my Dad is that he teaches me stuff. That's how I learned about my tounge--Playing with my Dad!

But moving on to Uncle Seth (who is going to be a dad pretty soon himself!)... Happy Birthday! Mommy says whenever she thinks of Uncle Seth, she craves chocolate. That's Uncle Seth's favorite thing. In fact, Mommy had Great-Mom-mom bring some yummy California chocolate for Uncle Seth's Christmas stocking. Ooops! I forgot--I'm not susposed to talk about Christmas presents. It's so hard for me to remember... :-) Daddy says it's hard for Mommy to remember, too...

Anyway, happy birthday to Uncle Seth! We hope you have a wonderful day!

Reading with Mommy

When my Mommy is sad, I can pretty much get whatever I want. So...today on the way home from the airport, I knew it was time to start thinking about what I really wanted.

I decided I really wanted to stay up and play with Mommy instead of taking a nap. I put on my most cutest face, and look what happened:

Mommy read me books instead of laying me down in my crib! I'm quite the clever baby. However, now Mommy is on to me. I think I'll be napping soon...

Goodbye...

Great-Mom-mom is on a plane going home to California.

Mommy said that no one else is allowed to visit ever again. It's Mommy's new rule. She says it's too hard to say goodbye. I don't think my Mommy really means no one can come to our house for a visit. I think she is just saying this today because she is sad.

The airport security guard asked Great-Mom-mom if she was having a good day. Great-Mom-mom said, "No, I had to tell my great-grandson goodbye." The security guard reminded her that she had to say hello in order to say goodbye. So that's what Mommy is remembering tonight--she's remembering that while goodbyes may be sad, at least she got to say hello.

Thank you for coming Great-Mom-mom! We had such a fun time playing with you!

Am I clean?

I was a twirp at bathtime today. Great-Mom-mom and Mommy were giving me a bath this morning, and boy did I give them a run for their money! First, I peed in the bathwater and then I spit up the biggest spit up ever in my life!

Mommy and Great-Mom-mom didn't know what to do cause the bathwater was all dirty. So they cleaned me up the best they could, and they took me to my changing table and washed me down with a wet washcloth.

Now Mommy wonders if I really am clean... Or does she need to give me another bath? See the smirk on my face? I know they don't know what to do with me. :-)

My first trip to the mall

This is a picture of me and Great-Mom-mom at the mall. Today Mommy, Great-Mom-mom, and I went to see Christmas decorations and have my pictures taken with Santa.

I was so brave when I sat on Santa's lap. I didn't really smile, cause the helper lady helping shook a noisy thing in my face. Why do people think babies like noise? Great-Mom-mom says I respond best to quiet noises. Anyway, after I had my picture taken, Santa gave me a candy cane and a coloring book. It was such fun.

Then it was time to shop! I was so good! Great-Mom-mom pushed my stroller and talked with me. I napped while I was riding. The store ladies couldn't get enough of me. It was a great time.

It was nice for Mommy to have Great-Mom-mom along for our first big shopping trip. She helped us figure out how to feed me and change me while away from home. We found good spots for eating and changing, so Mommy would know how to shop when we're by ourselves.

Mommy got a lot of her Christmas shopping done today. We also got a present for my friend Jonathan. Mommy says the present is a secret, so I can't really talk about it. Next weekend I get to go to his birthday party; he is one-year-old now. I'm very excited. Oh--and Mommy says I'm not allowed to talk about the Christmas presents either. It's hard for me to remember to keep secrets.

I'm VERY tired after my trip, and so is Mommy. We're going to sleep really good tonight, and we're going to have a stay-at-home day tomorrow. Well...we'll stay at home until the evening and then we are going on the Christmas Home Tour. I'd better get to sleep!!! These two women are wearing me out!

The Cow

Great-great Aunt Dee sent this cow with Great-Mom-mom. Today my buddy Norah and I sat in my rocking chair and visited with the cow. We had a lovely conversation, and then we hit the mall!!!
