We forgot!

Mommy and I had a fun day playing, and we forgot to take any pictures! Right now I'm trying to figure out crawling, so there wasn't much time to pose me for a picture today. Never fear, tomorrow, I get to taste peas for the first time. And, tomorrow, I get to go shopping with Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere! So, I'm sure there will be pictures taken with all the things we've got going. Until then, sleep well!!!

A package in the mailbox!

This morning when Mommy and I went to get the mail, we found a package for Norah from Aunt Tammy. We opened it up only to learn that Aunt Tammy has a new puppy!

Aunt Tammy's puppy's name is Torry, and she is a rottweiler. Mommy said rottweiler's can eat Norahs for snacks! Aunt Tammy said that Torry is a nice rottweiler.

Anyway, inside of the package was a book for me (about a rottweiler and a baby) and some bones for Norah. Of course, right away, Mommy took a picture of me reading my book and Norah chewing her bone!

I think I can...

Learning to crawl is hard work! Never fear, I'm working hard. Maybe in a few days I'll figure out how to move while I'm on all fours. Until then..."I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..."

Finally!!!

It was about time! Today, I finally got to play with Oliver. He is so cute! And, guess what? Oliver has a tongue just like I have a tongue. But he doesn't have any teeth. I wonder when Oliver will grow some teeth? Mommy says, "Soon enough."

What a fun day I had playing with my new cousin...

Playing on a Sunday Afternoon

This afternoon we went to Uncle Seth and Aunt Joy's house. It was lots of fun. I played with Grandpa Jere. Grandpa Jere has an orange hat, and he let me grab and pull his hat right off of his head! I think hats might be more fun than toys.

I thought I was going to finally get to play with Oliver, but it didn't happen. Oliver was sleeping and eating when I was awake. But the most unfair thing of all is that I'm pretty sure, while I was sleeping, Mommy and Daddy played with Oliver. I'm hoping I'll have a chance to chat with Oliver tomorrow and explain to him about being awake to play when I'm at his house.

I also got to play with Grandma Lou today. And, then, I got to play with Oliver's other grandpa and grandma. I'm a little confused, though, cause they are Oliver's grandparents and not mine. How does that work? Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere are my grandparents, and they are Oliver's grandparents. Mommy said it's kind of like how Grandma Carolyn is my grandma and not Oliver's. I didn't get it. So, Mommy went on to explain that Grandma Carolyn is my grandma and Baby Noah's grandma, but Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere aren't Noah's grandparents. Whatever, Mommy, now I'm really super confused!!! Maybe Dad can do a better job explaining the whole thing...

My first haircut

That's right, Grandma Lou cut my hair! Can you believe it? My hair really needed a cut. It has been getting all tangled and matted while I've been sleeping, and Mommy kept hurting my sweet head trying to get those mats and tangles out. It was kind of a disaster!

Here's a cut-in-progress picture...

And here's the final result! Grandma Lou even made me a special certificate in honor of my first haircut!

I think I look pretty cute--and a bit grown up! Mommy was a little bit sad to see my curls disappear, but, never fear, she saved them to put in my baby book. Mommy says I look like a little boy now. Of course, I look like a boy, Mommy, cause I AM a boy! Thank you for a wonderful haircut, Grandma Lou!!!

Grandpa Jere is finally here!

He's here! Dad and I picked Grandpa Jere up from the airport last night. Grandpa Jere is staying at Oliver's house, cause, well, let's just say they need help over there at Oliver's house...something about new babies and adjustments...

Since he hadn't seen me yet today, this afternoon Grandpa Jere came to my house to play. He brought Grandma Lou with him, and it was a great time! But you'll have to keep reading to find out about what made our time especially fun... Oh, and, you might want to take this last opportunity to look at my beautiful curls...

New Stuff

I discovered a new, fun game today. Here's how you play: First grab a stacking cup. Then scootch off of your blanket and over to the tile. Next, thwack the stacking cup against the hard floor; it makes a wonderful banging noise. Finally, put a big smile on your face and look around to see who is watching.

Besides playing my new game, I spent some time rocking on all fours today. Mommy says it's cause I'm getting ready to crawl. Maybe I am, and maybe I'm not. I'll let you know when I decide if I'm going to crawl.

This afternoon I convinced Mommy that I can say two words. Mommy thinks I can say "ma-ma", and she thinks I can say "hi". The past couple of days, I've been calling "ma-ma-ma" at what Mommy and Daddy call "appropriate times". And then today, when Mommy came into the room, I called out a loud "hi". Naturally, they think I'm brilliant. And in their minds brilliant babies talk early. Yep, I have them fooled--My parents think I know how to say two words! Silly parents!!!

I saved the most exciting news for last. Are you ready? I get to go to the airport again tomorrow evening. You know why? Cause GRANDPA JERE is coming TO PLAY WITH ME!!! I am so excited!!!

Sleeping on my tummy

When I was little, Mommy would put me to sleep on my side and I would roll over to my back. Now that I'm big, I've decided I like sleeping on my tummy best. It's just more comfortable, and my tired thumb stays in my mouth better when I sleep tummy down.

I can't seem to decide...

With Oliver being born, yesterday was an exciting day! So exciting, in fact, I forgot to take a nap all afternoon. This means today I'm not sure if I'm sleepy or not tired at all.

Here's a picture of me during play-time. See? I'm sucking my tired thumb, which usually means I'd rather be napping...

So...Mommy put me down for a nap, but I didn't want to nap. I wanted to play!

Mommy says she's confused. Well, guess what Mommy, I'm confused, too!!! It's okay, though; cause it's not everyday a new cousin comes! Oh, it was such a fun day getting a new cousin...

Another picture of Oliver

I couldn't resist putting on another picture of baby Oliver... Isn't he sweet?

Oliver is here!!!

I am pleased to announce the arrivial of my new baby cousin. Oliver Franklin Primm arrived today at 1:30 in the afternoon. Oliver weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces and measured 21 inches long. He is adorable, and I love him already!

Here's the thing, though... I thought Oliver was going to come out and play with me right away. It didn't exactly work that way. First Oliver had to eat, then Oliver had to be passed around so people could hold him, and then he had to have a bath! By the time Oliver was ready to play, Mommy and Daddy said it was time for me to leave the hospital! Good thing I had Grandma Lou to play with! I'm hoping tomorrow Oliver will be ready to play with me. I just might let him hold Worm for a minute or two. We'll just have to see...

PS: Mommy says if you would like to see more pictures of Oliver, please leave your email address in the comments. Mommy will send you pictures right away!

Hooray, hooray, Oliver is on his way!!!

Mommy had Cooking Club last night, so Dad and I had a guys' night. Well, almost a guys' night--Norah was with us and she's a girl, but not a girl-person, so it was still like a guys' night.

Anyway, this morning, Mommy found all kinds of cute pictures on the camera. This was her favorite one. Norah and I laughing together.

This morning, Mommy and I are waiting for Oliver to be born. Yep, hooray, hooray Oliver is on his way!!! (Aunt Joy's friend Sarah came up with that fun saying.) He's trying to come right now!!! I'm going to take a nap, so I'll be rested up when I meet Oliver. Oh, I simply cannot wait! Grandma Lou is keeping us updated by phone, and Mommy and I are camped out at Aunt Joy's since her house is close to the hospital. We'll head to the hospital just as soon as my little cousin is here...or maybe before...if we get impatient. I'll keep you posted!

My Postcard

Today I got a piece of mail. It is the very first postcard I have ever received; I've had letters and cards before, but never a postcard with a picture. Grandma Carolyn and Uncle Tom sent it to me from Sea World in San Diego. Grandma Carolyn said she saw a baby dolphin, and he was swimming with his mommy dolphin--she said it reminded her of me and how I like my Mommy. I had a great time reading my postcard. Thank you for sending it to me.

I want my Mommy!!!

I love my Mommy. She just might be my most favorite person in the whole wide world. In fact, I love her so much, I want to be with her any time I'm not sleeping. In other words, I want to be with Mommy all of the time.

Truth be told, I am with Mommy most of the time. But, in my opinion, it's just not enough time. I want to be with Mommy all of the time.

When Mommy puts me down (only for a minute) so she can write a check so our electricity doesn't get turned off, it makes me sad. "Learn to write a check with one hand, Mommy," is want I want to say.

When Mommy puts me on the floor so she can get the clean clothes out of the dryer, I get quite upset. Never mind that Mommy came right back and folded the clothes sitting on the floor with me sitting in her lap!

And then, when Mommy decided she had to run to the bathroom, well, I screamed until she was finished. Mind you, it only took her ten seconds--my Mommy is a quick "pee-er". Mommy said she wanted to scream, too. I don't think screaming is a good solution, Mommy. I think a better idea would be for you to stop drinking so much water.

Did I already tell you that I want my Mommy all of the time?

(Note: By the way, Mommy didn't really scream--she just wanted to...)

Happy Birthday Muriel!

Today is Muriel's birthday! Muriel is Mommy's Godmother. She lives on the beautiful Central Coast of California. The only time I met Muriel was when I was still in Mommy's tummy, so I don't really remember very much. But, still, I know just who Muriel is! I know, cause when Mommy and I run errands, Mommy gives me a "silkie". "Here's your silkie from Muriel, Baby," says Mommy as she buckles me in. Muriel made me my silkies, and they help me to be patient during errands. Most babies would probably rub the soft silk over their cheek, but not me--I really prefer to chew my silkies.

I hope you have a wonderful day, Muriel! Maybe you should come to my house sometime, so I could meet you for reals.

Grandma Lou is here!

Yesterday afternoon, Grandma Lou finally arrived! She arrived just in time to feed me my zucchini. As always, it was yummy!

We spent the evening at Uncle Seth's and Aunt Joy's. We were trying to convince Oliver to arrive. He did not cooperate. Silly Oliver!

Wish you were here, too, Grandpa Jere. Mommy says I have to be patient cause you'll get here just as soon as you can!

My thoughts on yogurt

For lunch she gave me yogurt. I'm sure when I say "yogurt", you are thinking frozen, sweet, strawberry goodness. Not the case at my house!

At my house, the yogurt I got to try was plain, whole milk, organic, and not-one-little-bit-sweet. Needless to say, my "yummy" yogurt is a bit tart. I did pretty good eating it at first, but then the yogurt kept coming spoonful after spoonful. Finally I'd had enough, and this is the face I made.

My parents laughed and started taking pictures. Everyday, I'm more and more convinced my parents had me for entertainment purposes.

Mommy got the hint, and stirred in some yellow squash. She said tomorrow, she'll stir in bananas. Mommy also says she'll give me some pears in a couple of days. According to Mommy, pears stirred into my yogurt will be quite yummy.

We have this kind of yogurt at my house because Mommy is worked up about eating healthy and training my palette. Mommy is convinced that if she gives me good food when I'm little, I will choose good food when I am older. Whatever you say, Mommy.

Of course, Mommy puts her yogurt in a smoothie with lots of frozen fruit, vanilla, and honey before she eats it! No wonder she likes yogurt! Until I'm allowed to have smoothies, perhaps pears will make yogurt better... I'll keep you posted...

THREE more teeth!!!

While I was having my before-bedtime milk this evening, Mommy thought she felt something sharp. Upon further investigation (investigating is a tad uncomfortable--just look at the picture!), THREE new teeth were found in my mouth!

Yep, today, THREE new teeth popped through. Today's new teeth are all on the top--middle right, side right, and side left. I already had the two bottoms and the top left. My grand total of teeth is up to SIX!!! Mommy says this is quite the accomplishment for a seven-month-old.

I know I blogged a lot today...I'm finished now, and I'm going to bed. I've got to be rested for tomorrow's trip to the airport! Good night!

My first injury

It was very sad. Just before lunch, I was practicing my sitting, and I fell. I fell onto Worm. Worm didn't move out of the way fast enough. I hurt my head, and I have a bump. I cried real tears. I think Mommy would have cried real tears, too; but Dad came home to save the day.

Can you see my bump? It's the red splotch above my ear.

In honor of my first injury, the book Mommy read me before naptime was Dr. Dan the Bandage Man. It's a book about a little boy who pretends he's a doctor and puts bandaids on ouchies. It's a great book.

By the way, Worm is just fine.

Disappearing Eyes

Sometimes, when I smile, my eyes disappear. That's because I have squinty eyes like Mommy and Aunt Julia.

Can you see my teeth? Mommy and Daddy think I look like an "Arkansas hill baby" since my teeth are coming in at different growth speeds. Never fear, Grandma Lou comes in tomorrow, and she'll think I'm cute--hill baby or not!

Actually, both of my grandmas are flying this weekend. Grandma Lou flies into see me, and Grandma Carolyn flew to Sea World in San Diego with Uncle Tom's class for a field trip. I sure hope when I go to school my class goes to Sea World in San Diego on a field trip. Uncle Tom is L-U-C-K-Y! I think Shamu lives at Sea World--he's a Killer Whale. I've never seen a Killer Whale. Dad says they have Killer Whales in Alaska. I wonder if Jonas has ever seen one?

Enough with the picture taking and blogging! I must get dressed! And then I have to think about which of my tricks I should show Grandma Lou.

Oh...and...still no Oliver...

Tasting my toes

Can you put your toes in your mouth? I can, and I chewed on them earlier this morning! They tasted like toes--I was hoping they would taste like zucchini. That way I could have zucchini whenever I wanted it! Oh well...I think I'll still chew on my toes anyway cause it's fun!

Helping Mommy

Ever since I was little, I have helped Mommy clean. One of my relatives (Mommy can't remember which one--I have a lot) asked how that worked. Mommy decided it was time to take a picture so everyone could see.

(It's not a very good picture. Mommy couldn't get a good view unless we took the picture of us in the mirror. Dad is at class, so he wasn't here to help.)

This is how it works. Mommy straps me in to my carrier (Baby Bojrn--Mommy likes that one the best). And then Mommy vacuums, dusts, or whatever the chores are for the day.

While we were dusting today, Mommy said something very sad. She said that my days of helping in this way are coming to an end. Mommy seems to think I'm too heavy!?! I don't know what the problem is, I'm still pretty little...

All by myself!

So far, today has been a simply wonderful day.

Mommy and I started off the morning by taking a walk with Jonathan and his Mommy. I even wore a hat! I started the walk with my baseball cap, but then half-way through the walk, Jonathan shared his hat with me. Jonathan's hat has a wide brim for keeping sun out. Thanks for sharing, Jonathan.

Then we headed home for a nap. Walking makes me tired!

Next we had a playdate at Emma Claire's house. Jonathan was there, too. And guess what? Jonathan shared some stacking stars with me! Jonathan is a very good sharer. Mommy says for me to follow Jonathan's example instead of her example. Thank you for the fun time, Emma Claire and Jonathan.

And now I'm taking a nap...I guess playdates make me just as tired as walking does! In fact, last week, I was so tired, I slept right through my playdate with Jake and Ava! I need to work on staying awake!

PS: This is a picture of me holding my sippy cup ALL BY MYSELF!!! And now to figure out how to hold the cup by myself and make the water come out. As of now, the water only comes out when Mommy holds my cup. Mommy says it has to do with angles. What's an angle?

Fresh Food Feeders

Before I was born, Grandma Lou's friend Kathy made me a diaper cake. On the cake, all kinds of fun things were tucked in between the diapers. Two of these fresh food feeders were some of the treasures on my special cake.

Mommy came across the feeders this morning when she was looking for something in my closet. When I'm older, Mommy will put yummy things like strawberries and melon pieces in to the feeder. Until I'm ready for those foods, Mommy thought maybe she could put a piece of ice in the bag.

Well, Mommy did just that--she put ice in the bag and gave me the feeder to chew. It was just great! Ice on my sore gums (yep, I'm working on tooth #4) felt so good!

Is this a toy?

This "toy" has been in my room for a while. When I was younger, I used to kick at the buttons with my feet. Mommy would always move me before I could do what she calls "damage". But now that I'm a quick-mover, I can get to my black toy faster than Mommy can move me! And, being older, I can use my fingers to poke the buttons instead of my toes. When I poke at the buttons, my music stops and starts. What fun my black toy is to play with!

Seven, squash, and shoes...

This is a post about things starting with the letter "s".

Today I am seven-months-old! Can you believe it? Seven months is pretty old for a baby. I'm just growing and growing!

Since I'm seven-months-old, I get to try new food every four days now. Today we tried yellow squash. I really don't know what the big deal is about yellow squash being a new food; it tasted just like zucchini to me. Still, I smiled, and pretended with Mommy about how yellow squash is a yummy new food.

This morning while Mommy was blowdrying her hair, I found shoes under her bed. I had been playing with Worm; however, I think playing with shoes might be more fun. (Please don't tell Worm; I don't want his feelings hurt.)

We're still waiting... Oliver isn't here yet... That cousin is taking his time, but that's okay! Grandma Lou doesn't come until Saturday, so it's good Oliver is waiting. Me? Well, I'm just having a hard time being patient. Mommy says I don't have to be patient all that much longer.

Monday, May 15, 2006

Good Morning, Mommy!

This morning Mommy found me ready and waiting for milk. I had rolled over onto my tummy, scooted to the side of the crib that faces my door, and was calling for Mommy! By the look on her face, I think Mommy was surprised to find me this ready.

Mommy picked me up and said, "Baby, you're sleeping in the pack-n'-play until Dad moves your crib mattress down!"

Well, I must run. I have to help Norah open her mail. She got a letter from her dog-cousin Scout who lives in California. I think it's fun Norah has a pen-pal. :-)

Laughing at Dad

My Dad is SOOO funny! This afternoon Dad got me laughing really, really hard! Growling just might be the funniest thing in my world.

Growl, growl, growl... Laugh, laugh, laugh!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I thought Mommy might want her special day to last extra long, so I (along with Norah) woke Mommy up bright and early at 6:11 a.m. Looking back, I don't think that was such a good idea. But how was I to know? It's my first Mother's Day, and I wasn't sure how things were supposed to work on such a day.

After our early start, I gave Mommy her card; Dad gave Mommy a card and flowers, too. Mommy liked the flowers and laughed at her cards (in my family, we appreciate funny cards more than serious cards). And then, we had pancakes! Well...everyone had pancakes except for me. I had rice cereal mixed with bananas. Now it's naptime! "Yeah for naptime," says Mommy!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies I know. I'm sure glad God made mommies!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Happy birthday to Mommy! Today is Mommy's special day. Since it's a special occasion, Mommy decided to share one of her presents with me. Daddy gave Mommy The San Francisco Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market Cookbook. Ever since Mommy heard it was out, she's been dying to have it! I wonder what recipe Mommy will make first?

Looking at this picture, one might think now that Mommy is 34 she knows how to share. Not at all true! Can you see my mouthing opening? Well, Mommy was pretty sure I was opening my mouth so I could chew on her new gift! So, she took the book away. Really Mommy, you really should share. After all, you are supposed to be a good example for me.

Bananas

This morning at breakfast, I discovered Mommy had hidden my rice cereal in bananas! Hum...I'm really not sure what I think of bananas. They are certainly not as wonderful as zucchini. Hopefully, I'll have zucchini for lunch--now, that's wonderful stuff!

The best thing about bananas is how fun they make spitting! I've been practicing my spitting during meal times (much to Mommy's despair). Other foods I've tried have spit okay, but bananas, well, they spit the best of all foods! Here's a picture of me just after I spit bananas all over Mommy!

If only...

If only this picture wasn't blurry. Dad was tossing me in the air, and Mommy was trying to get a good picture. There must have been too much movement. Oh well...it's still a cute picture. It's so much fun playing with my Dad! Too bad he's at work all day... Good thing the weekend is coming in one day!

Crawling?

My parents are wondering if I'm starting to learn to crawl. What do you think? Tonight I was sticking my bum in the air and using my feet to push towards my stacking cups. I'm not sure what Mommy and Dad are talking about when they use words like "crawl", but I do know pushing off with my knees and feet gets me closer to my toys.

Today Mommy decided to dust the house. And then, once she got started, Mommy decided to rearrange all of the "pretties". Mommy thought she might as well mix it up bit, since all of her things were moved because of dusting. It was a fun day. I laid on my blanket and Mommy walked back and forth moving and dusting things. If I wanted Mommy to stop moving and play, I just made a screetching noise. Then, Mommy would come sit on my blanket with me. I sure do love my Mommy!

Have a brownie...

Here's the promised picture. I woke up from my nap happy and ready to eat brownies. But then Mommy reminded me that I can't eat chocolate just yet. Bummer!

Now I'm off to have dinner with Ava. Did you hear? Ava has a new tooth! I'm sure it's a very cute little tooth!

Happy Birthday Uncle Jamey!

Happy birthday to my Uncle Jamey! Uncle Jamey is another one of Mommy's brothers (Mommy has lots and lots of siblings). Uncle Jamey is married to Aunt Amy, and they are the parents to one of my soon-to-be-born cousins (thanks to all those siblings, I have a lot of little cousins). I hope you have a wonderful day today, Uncle Jamey. Any big plans? Mommy's making brownies; if you want, you could come to our house for a frosted brownie. We have birthday candles and everything! YUM and fun!!!

I didn't really feel like taking pictures this morning. I was too tired and just wanted to go to bed. Hopefully after my nap, I'll feel like posing for a birthday picture. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Another baby, another tooth

Mommy and I couldn't get on Blogger last night. I think it was broken. Hopefully I remembered everything I was going to tell you...

I can't believe it, but it's true! There is another baby at our house! This baby lives in the mirror on the animal's tummy attached to my exersaucer. He is a very cute baby, and he looks just like the baby who lives in the mirror in my room. I think this baby likes me, cause he smiles back when I talk to him.

Last night Mommy and Daddy found another tooth in my mouth. Yep, the top right tooth has made an appearance. Mommy had better watch out--I'm armed and considered dangerous! :-)

Favorite No More

Now that I've had foods like sweet potatoes, avocados, and zucchini, rice cereal just isn't that great anymore. To be perfectly honest, it's kind of boring. I make my sad face along with sad noises when I have to eat rice cereal. Mommy said she'll do some reading to see if I have to keep eating rice cereal. Hopefully the book will say I can skip the stuff from here on out!

"The Weekend of Mommy"

Around here, plans are underway for what Mommy has declared "The Weekend of Mommy"! Friday is Mommy's birthday, and then Sunday is Mother's Day; so Mommy pretty much thinks the whole weekend should be all about her. Mommy's declaration kind of puts the pressure on Dad and Me.

But never fear, we've got it covered. Dad has a package hidden, and Mommy pinky-swore she wouldn't go on a treasure hunt. I still haven't done my shopping yet as I'm not allowed to take the car to the store without supervision. I think I might have to have a chat with Dad tonight--this little guy needs to shop for cards!

Heros

A couple of my cousins are in the military spending time in far-away countries. So, if you have a minute, please keep Megan (Mommy's cousin) and Ryan (Daddy's cousin) in your prayers. Thank you for taking care of our country, cousins! We appreciate you both!

Rolling, rolling, rolling

I'm officially a complete roller. Yep, today I started rolling from my back to my tummy on purpose, thus completing my rolling capabilities.

I mastered rolling tummy to back when I was younger. Then for the past few days, I've been accidentally rolling from back to tummy. But, today, the accidental roll turned into a purposeful roll. And, let me tell you, my parents are excited!

I started out on my tummy with my face above the "drool catcher", and I rolled all the way around to the tile. By the way, tile isn't really all that soft. This picture is me in the middle of a roll. What a baby I am!

The cutest baby in the whole world!

Mommy couldn't resist putting on another picture before the furniture-rearrange. Mommy says I am the cutest baby in the whole world!!! Mommy also says I'm pretty sweet!

My Tongue

I have caught on to the fact that sticking out my tongue brings laughter from my parents. Norah says I shouldn't get used to this, cause sticking-out-tongues are only cute on babies. Oh well, I'm living in the moment; and in this moment, it makes my parents giggle!

Last night we went to church, and I had a great time in the nursery. So great, in fact, that the nursery people almost didn't give me back to Mommy! The nursery people think I am a sweet baby. Last night I snuggled on Pastor Mark's lap with my silky blankie for most of the hour. The nursery doesn't make me sad, cause there are lots of friends there, and because Mommy and Daddy always come back to get me.

Well...I have to help the parents rearrange some furniture... Have a happy Sunday!

Aunt Dee and the Ocean

This is a picture of me after my bath last night. Dad did bath night, and Dad likes to wrap me up like a buritto.

Mommy said this picture reminded her of the ocean. That didn't make any sense to me, so Mommy had to continue explaining. Mommy said when she was little she would visit Aunt Dee, who lives at the beach, and swim in the Pacific ocean. According to Mommy, swimming in the ocean is one of the most fun things in all of the world. Anyway, after swimming in the ocean everyone had to take a bath or shower to clean up. And after a shower or bath, one wraps up in a towel to dry off and get warm! That's how Mommy got from me wrapped as a buritto to thinking of the ocean. (In case you hadn't noticed, Mommy has a very random thought process.)

But then Mommy's random thoughts continued to Aunt Dee herself! You see, today is my Great-Great-Aunt Dee's birthday! Happy Birthday, Aunt Dee! We wish you the best day ever!

Green Zucchini

Today is another "new food Friday" at our house. On today's menu: zucchini. Mommy cooked and smashed the zucchini so I could give the vegetable a try. The green mixture in the bowl reminded Mommy of Grandma Carolyn. Grandma Carolyn LOVES green. We took a picture for her. "I hope you like looking at my green food, Grandma Carolyn."

My Mommy is pretty talented cause she can feed me and take pictures all at the same time! But back to zucchini...

I LOVE zucchini as much as Grandma Carolyn loves green! I think zucchini may replace rice cereal as my new favorite food. It's sooooo great!!! Mommy couldn't get the spoon into my mouth fast enough, cause I was swallowing the zucchini so quickly. I wonder if we're having zucchini for dinner? I sure hope so!

Norah

Across the street from our house, the neighbors are having a garage sale. Poor Norah. Since I've been in her world, Norah believes her job is to keep an eye on me and to protect me.

Norah usually barks when a car appears at our house, so you can imagine the stress of today! Car after car keeps driving up and parking in front of our house, so the people inside can climb from the car to browse at the garage sale. Norah runs from me, to the front door, then to the guest room, and finally back to me barking all the while.

Mommy thought that perhaps Norah would be happier in the back yard, but then we remembered that the neighbors are having a swimming pool put in. There are tractors and saws and other noises that bother Norah coming from the neighbor's yard. The back yard doesn't make Norah any happier. Poor Norah; it's going to be a long day...

You are such a good puppy, Norah. Thank you for protecting me!

Norah's Cave

My buddy Norah loves "caves". Her favorite cave these days is underneath the coffee table. Yesterday afternoon, I decided to give the cave a try.

It was really quite fun. I could thwack my stacking cup against the table to make a lovely, loud, banging noise. The other fun thing was to reach for and grab the underside of the table--I even tried to do a chin-up!

Norah, however, wouldn't visit the cave while I was in it. I think, perhaps, my puppy thinks this particular cave is a Norah-only spot. So, since I love my puppy, I scootched out from the cave and had some milk!

PS: Yes, I have band-aids on. My Mommy took me for more shots! Enough with the shots already!!!

Before and After

Usually, after breakfast, Mommy and I have playtime in my room. We read books, we talk about colors, and we listen to music--just to name a few of the things we do. However, today Mommy is in the middle of a good book. Let me correct myself; Mommy is always in the middle of a good book. Today she is in the middle of a good book which she cannot seem to put down!

So for my playtime today, Mommy decided I was on my own. Mommy and I went into my room. Mommy laid me on my tummy-time rug. And then, Mommy sat next to me while she buried her nose in her book. But then Mommy got to thinking... "Wouldn't a before and after picture be fun?" Mommy ran and got the camera. This is the before playtime picture.

This is the after playtime picture.

Mommy didn't move anything but my burp cloth (in the event of a drool drip). I had a great time! Sometimes it's nice to play unsupervised. I don't think Mommy is quite finished with her book yet, so I think there's hope for a bit more free-play this afternoon. I can hardly wait!
