Baby Legs

As you know, I don't really enjoy wearing pants. That's where my perfect Christmas gift comes in. Aunt Jenna found these things called Baby Legs. They are made just for babies who don't like pants! Dad calls them leg warmers, but they're not really that at all. They are special things to keep pant-less baby legs warm.

Here I am (barely awake from a long night's sleep) showing off my Baby Legs. This is the front view. They are so fun to wear. I like them a lot.

And this is the shot from the back. "Too cute," says Mommy and Grandma! Thanks for my Baby Legs, Aunt Jenna.

In other news, I'm saying lots and lots more words. Since I've been in Colorado I've learned apple, please, grandma, all right, just to name a few. Yep, I'm an advanced baby (at least that's what my relatives think--why would I argue?).

Taking Down Christmas

Today we took down all of the Christmas decorations. I was a very good helper. First I helped Grandma Lou dust the nativity sheep with the special dusting brush.

Then I dusted the donkey. Mommy says perhaps I can help her dust the house since I'm such a good duster. I assured Mommy that dusting donkeys is VERY different from dusting the house. I know I'm a good nativity duster, but I'm not so sure I'd be a good house duster. "Interesting," said Mommy.

Remember how I used to not like the vacuum? Well, I decided I really, really like Grandma Lou's vacuum. It's shiny and has wheels. "Rhunnn, rhunnn!"

Finally, when it was time to take the boxes to the basement, Aunt Julia held and played with me, so I would remember to stay off the stairs. It's very hard to remember to stay off of the stairs; I was really glad Aunt Julia was there to help.

Today

It's still snowing. Mommy tried to get a picture of the flakes, but I don't think they really showed up in this picture. I guess you have to be here to see them.

Grandpa Jere keeps plowing every couple of hours. Hopefully that will help the clean-up be easier when it stops snowing. Who knows when we will ever get home!?!

Thursday

On Thursday it started snowing again. It started snowing a whole lot! Basically, we're stuck in Colorado. Mommy says this is okay because there are extra people in Colorado to help with chasing me.

Even though it was snowing, Grandma Lou said I could go out and play in the snow. Grandma Lou found my Dad's mukluks from when he was my age. She put them on me and we were off!

Here's a close-up of the mukluks. They're what my Dad wore when he was a baby in Alaska. They are made out of caribou. They kept my feet warm an dry.

Grandmas are great cause they let (and even encourage) kids to do things that parents think are a hassle. Grandma Lou and I did all kinds of walking around in the snow. It was so much fun. In fact, Grandma Lou wore me out! Thursday was the only day I did not throw a fit when it was time to come in.

Oh how I love snow! Mommy says we're going to the ocean in February. I wonder...will I like the ocean as much as I like the snow?

Wednesday

Besides snow, I also love oranges. On Wednesday, I at two whole oranges. Wednesday was the same day I ate three whole kiwis, too. I think I like fruit.

Tuesday

Snow cleanup continued on Tuesday. Grandpa Jere and I shoveled a path for the dogs. I think the clearing went much faster for Grandpa Jere since I was there to help.

And then I fell into the snow. I fell on my face. I didn't really like falling on my face into the snow. The snow was cold and got up in my nose! Still, I was not happy when it was time to come in.

Grandma Lou said that her mommy (my Great-Grandma Lorene) used to let Grandma Lou sleep in her crib out in the snow! Grandma Lou loved the outside just like I do. Grandma Lou was pretty lucky to have such a easy-going mommy. Maybe if I keep working on my Mommy...

Christmas Afternoon, Part Two

FINALLY, I was able to play in the snow! Boy, oh boy, do I love snow! I just can't get enough of the white stuff. Maybe it's cause my Dad was born in Alaska and passed down some of his "Alaska-ness" to me. All I know is that I get pretty upset (and throw a temper tantrum) when it's time to come inside.

The puppies came over to play with me. Puppies and snow--does it get any better than that?

Christmas Afternoon, Part One

After presents and stockings, I had to help Grandpa Jere plow. At first I wasn't sure what to think of the plow, but it turned out to be okay.

Next came taking care of the squirrels. I helped Grandpa Jere put corn on the squirrel feeder. That way the animals won't be hungry. Animals have a hard time finding food when there is so much snow.

Here's a sweet picture of me and Grandma Lou.

Christmas Morning, Part Two

Pretty soon it was time to open stockings. In my sock, there were some books and more animals to go with the ark I got for my birthday.

But best of all, I got a steering wheel. It makes all kinds of noises. I just love it! Grandpa Jere knows just what boys like.

Supposedly I got a water table that I'm "really going to enjoy playing with," but it's still in the box. Something about making it easier to get home.

Christmas Morning, Part One

We've been having blog trouble. That's why it's taken me so long to let you know about my Christmas. Regardless of the computer troubles, we had a wonderful Christmas.
Here's my brand new basketball hoop from Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere. Someone forgot to put the net in the box, so we still have to get one of those before I can have too much fun playing with my ball and hoop. Still, I love it!!!

Next I opened up some very cute clothes. I think Mommy may have appreciated the clothes more than me. Mommy really likes clothes.

This is my turtle nightlight from Aunt Julia. We keep forgetting to try it out. Hopefully, Mommy will remember to help me play with it after dark tonight.

Snow on Christmas Eve

More snow came the evening of Christmas Eve. It was great fun! Dad took me outside so we could play with the flakes.

All I want for Christmas...

...is my two front teeth...

Yep, I got two more teeth bringing the total up to TEN TEETH!!!

And... Merry Christmas... More to come...

Happy Birthday Great-Grandma Jeanne!

Happy birthday to my Great-Grandma Jeanne! I hope you have a wonderful day! And, Happy Christmas Eve! I'm kind of busy, so I don't have time to write. I'll tell Mommy to keep taking pictures, and I'll write more later. Okay?

We're here!

Well, we made it to Colorado! And, go figure, our camera started working again. Good thing! I didn't want you to forget what I look like.

We've been having a great time. So far I've wrestled with Aunt Julia, I've played with the puppies, I've played with Grandpa Jere and Grandma Lou, and I've had a haircut! All this and we've been here less than 24 hours!

I'm going to the store with Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere, so I have to go. Talk to you later...

Snow!!!

Earlier today Grandpa Jere called to say we're going to have a white Christmas. Mommy found a picture on the Internet that shows what it looks like near Grandpa Jere and Grandma Lou's house. It's pretty snowy and the snow is still coming!!!

It's nice to have snow to think about. It helps take my mind off of me. You see, I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I just wanted to snuggle with my Mommy this morning rather than play with my toys, so Mommy said we could snuggle. Mommy also said we could watch "The Price is Right". (Mommy said to be sure and tell you that there was NOTHING else on.) I think "The Price is Right" might be my favorite show. There was lots of clapping, and I clapped along with the people on the show. It was really pretty great.

Well, I must get to feeling better, so I'm going to take a nap. I have to be better so I can play in the snow!!!

Camera news

It's official. Our camera is toast. Mommy and Dad are trying to decide what to do. Until they decide, you'll have to keep using your imagination to remember how cute I am.

Starting on Saturday, we can use Grandma Lou and Grandpa Jere's camera. Never fear, there will be picture-blogging again soon!

Even though I don't have a picture to post I'll still tell you what I did yesterday and so far today. Yesterday I played with my Mommy most of the day. And then, at 6:30, I had a surprise! After being gone for 5 whole days and part of one day, my Dad came home! I didn't think I would get to see him until today. His flight got in early last night, so he made it home sooner than expected. It sure was nice to see my Dad after so many days. And, then, yesterday evening I got to play with my babysitter Emily cause Mommy and Dad had to go to a party. I really like Emily. I especially like showing off for her.

This morning Dad went in to work a little late after playing with me. My Dad sure is fun to wrestle with! I think I'm almost big enough to get him!!! Then Mommy and I read books, and now it's naptime. I think I get to play with Emily again tonight cause there's another party I wasn't invited to. What's up with that?

Sunday, December 17, 2006

Oh no!!!

Something is wrong with our camera. Mommy doesn't know what to do. Any suggestions? Until Mommy figures out what to do, you'll just have to imagine (by remembering) how cute I am.

Today has been a slow, lazy day. We made a few cookies, and I took a nap. Now I think I'll play with my toys, and maybe I'll convince Mommy to go for a walk.

I hope you're having a restful Sunday, too.

Fourteen Months

It's bedtime right now. Mommy realized we forgot to take pictures today, and I'm certainly too tired to do it now! I'm ready for sleep!

Today I turned fourteen-months-old. I was hoping for a cake, but it didn't happen. I guess cakes are just for "year birthdays" and not "month birthdays". Although, I did get to have one sip of punch today, so maybe that counts as something special for my fourteen-month-birthday.

Well...that's about it from me! I'm going to get my blankie with the silky edges and go to sleep. Good night!!!

Playing in the backyard

After my afternoon nap, Mommy and I decided to play in the backyard with Norah. Today was pretty much an outside day!

There were lots of sticks and leaves to find and carry. Then I played with Norah's ball; she didn't mind cause she's a good "share-er". Most fun of all, Norah and I played chase! Having a puppy to chase is one of my most favorite things.

The Playground

Far to pretty of a day to stay inside, Mommy and I met Charley and his mommy at the park. We had a really nice time playing. First we climbed on the play structure. I was a tiny bit overwhelmed--I like to step back and take things in before trying something new. Still, it was lots of fun! Mommy even climbed with me.

Here I am getting more into the climbing and playing. Between you and me, I think I could have climbed a whole lot better if I was barefoot. Cause of the bark on the playground, Mommy said I had to keep my shoes on. Speaking of bark...picking up the pieces of bark was practically as fun as playing! I really like to find things on the ground to hold and carry.

Before too long, we made our way over to the swings. Here we are, Charley and I, swinging on the swings. I didn't feel like swinging very long today. For some reason I was hungry for lunch before it was lunchtime.

Before we headed home for some lunch, we decided to give the slides a quick try. Mommy even slid with me! We couldn't slide very fast cause Mommy didn't wear "park shoes". Next time I will remind her to wear tennis shoes, that way we can slide super fast without Mommy's shoes slipping off.

What a fun day at the park! Thanks for playing, Charley!

The bottle brush

I found a new toy to play with. Mommy says it's a bottle brush. I say it's a wonderful thing to play with!

So far today I have brushed Norah's hair, I have brushed my hair, and I have brushed the floor. Now it's time for lunch. I wonder what I will find to brush after lunch? Hum...

And for those of you keeping track of how often I wear pants, well, I'm still wearing them today and it's 12:19pm. That may be a record. Usually, by 10am, I've done enough damage to my pants that Mommy declares them unwearable. Never fear, I'm sure, sooner rather than later, something is bound to happen, and I will, once again, be the pants-less baby!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jenna!

Today is my Aunt Jenna's birthday! Because I'm so excited about Aunt Jenna's birthday, I did a little crib jumping during my naptime. This is how Mommy found me--jumping and jumping and laughing and laughing! I sure love birthdays! I hope you have a super-dooper good 30th birthday, Aunt Jenna! Mommy says turning 30 was great! I hope you feel the same.

Riding my trike

Here's my trike. Grandpa Jere and Grandma Lou took me shopping for it after my birthday party. I really like my trike. I'm finally figuring out how to push with my feet to make my trike move. You should see me go!

This picture shows you how I'm supposed to be riding my trike. Notice I'm sitting on my bum. Mommy really likes it when I ride my trike the "correct" way. "Oh, Jamey, you are doing such a good job riding your trike," says Mommy. You'd think I was the best trike rider in the world to hear her go on and on...

Sure riding my trike the traditional way makes Mommy happy, but there is another way that makes me happiest! This picture shows you how I like to ride my trike! STANDING!!! Oh, what fun it is! When I ride my trike like this Mommy says, "Jamey, let's sit on our bottom while we ride our trike!" Whatever, Mommy. Really, if it makes you nervous to watch, don't look! It's that simple...

Playing with friends

This morning I played with a few friends. It was lots of fun, and our mommies took lots of pictures.

After my nap (I still like to take two naps a day), we had snack time. Ava shared her bunny crackers with everyone. The mommies thought it was pretty cute having us all lined up for snack time: Jonathan, me, Ava, and Emma Claire. (Ava's friend Alex is peeking out from behind Jonathan's chair.) I'm glad I got to sit next to Jonathan, cause he's moving away. I'm trying not to be too sad about the whole thing. Since he's moving close to my California relatives, I'll still get to see him often. That's a good thing!

After snack, I shared with Emma Claire. Neither one of us really likes to share. I think that's why we're such good sharers with just each other! We understand each other. Anyway, I like sharing with Emma Claire; she knows sharing is a very hard thing to do. I wonder if Emma Claire knows the sharing song? That's the song that Daddy sings to Mommy all of the time, cause Mommy doesn't like sharing either. Let's just say it isn't my favorite song...

I had to take a break after all the hard sharing. So I sat at the table with Ava. We had a lovely chat. Actually I have a table just like Ava's table. However, my table lives in a box in the garage. That's cause I'm a climber! Yep, I have a hard time remembering that tables are for sitting at and not for climbing on. It's just that I'm such a good climber, and I like showing off my skill!

Thanks for playing, friends! It was a pretty fun morning.

Our busy day

I had to help Mommy lots today. We were busy getting stuff done! Mondays are kind of like that for us. After playing with Dad all weekend, Mommy and I have to get things back in order.

First I helped Mommy unload the groceries. Mommy usually does the unloading in the kitchen, but I wanted to try some place new today. I guess unloading in the living room does take a little bit more walking when putting our food away. Still, it was fun to try something new. Mommy, well, she's not really one to try new things. Good thing she has me!

Next, we had to unload the dishwasher. I brought a few of my cars along. I thought having my cars right there with me would be a good idea just in case I needed a play break during the unloading. Good thing I brought my cars, cause I did need a break! Unloading the dishwasher is a job that takes a very long time. Way too long for a little guy like me!

Happy Birthday Uncle Seth!

Today really isn't Uncle Seth's birthday, but Mommy sort of forgot that it was his birthday on Wednesday. Mommy forgets lots of things these days. So...even though we're a few days late, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Uncle Seth!!! (And Happy Birthday to Aunt Andrea--I think we forgot her's as well! Aunt Andrea is celebrating her birthday with her grandma in Hungary this year.)

Yesterday I went to Oliver's house. We played and stuff. Oliver is basically just as tall as me! Isn't that kind of fun? I showed Oliver how to work the spin-thing on his exersaucer. And then Oliver shared his stacking stars with me. Oliver is a good sharer, but I have to be reminded a little bit.

Today I played with lots of friends, but we don't have any pictures cause Mommy forgot her camera. First, we played with Molly, Hannah, Paul, Sydney, and Samantha. Those five kids have two puppies and two kitties. I think I kind of like kitties. I kept petting Dewy the cat; he was so nice! I also liked it when Paul took me on the swing!

Then we played with Ava, Isaiah, Alyssa, Nash, and Nora (a baby Nora--not my puppy Norah). Lots of kids and lots of fun! There was wrestling and tickling at this party! Believe you me, I'm ready for bed!

Oh--and Aunt Jenna, Mommy thinks your birthday might be the next one. We will try our hardest to remember... If you want, you could remind us...

One of my favorite games...

Where's Jamey?

Here I am!!!

Listening to my music

This morning, when Mommy wasn't looking, I walked into my room. A few minutes later, this is how Mommy found me. I had turned my music on and was sitting right next to my cd player, bouncing my head to the music, and listening to my heart's content. I sure do love music!

Well, and I love chewing on my squishy cars, too...

Another thing I love is when Mommy forgets to finish putting clothes on me. Clothes are so confining. Plus, Mommy doesn't really enjoy doing the laundry, so we make a pretty good pair.

Watching Jonathan

This is my friend Jonathan. He's about 10 months older than me. That means he can do things that I'm not quite ready to do just yet.

Jonathan can sit in a grown-up chair, and eat his snacks from a bowl without spilling or falling! Give me ten months and I'm sure I'll be ready to do the same thing. Until then, I'll be watching my older friend Jonathan.

Oh--and the reason we're not smiling is cause our mouths are full of bunny crackers. YUM!

Resting

Instead of taking pictures, today we rested. All that shopping wore Mommy and me out! Besides resting we played lots and lots. Oh--and I practiced some of my words. I can now say shoe and cracker. I also consistently say the same sound when I point to a Christmas tree, but no one but me knows what the sound is. It's good to keep people guessing; you can't have everyone knowing all of your business all of the time.

Well, that's about it from me. It's bedtime at our house. Sleep well!

Good-bye to Great-Mom-mom

I've decided I only like airports half of the time. I like the half when we're picking people up the best. The other half isn't so much fun. Today we went to the airport for the not-so-much-fun half.

Before we had to say good-bye, Great-Mom-mom and I spent some time looking at the new ornament she brought for me. Then we hopped in the car. Great-Mom-mom rode in the back so we wouldn't miss out on any playing time.

Then it was time for good-bye. I stretched out my arms for one final hug and made Mommy and Great-Mom-mom cry. Good-byes are sad, but, still, I'm thankful we had a really fun visit. Come again sometime soon Great-Mom-mom. I miss you already...

Santa Pictures

This is my Santa Picture from yesterday. Remember my parents don't scan, so this is actually a picture of a picture. It's to help you get the idea of how cute my picture turned out to be.

I liked Santa. He was really nice. I wasn't sure I was ready to go when it was time to leave. Santa gave me something called a candy cane, so leaving was mostly okay. The candy cane was wrapped in cellophane, and it made fun noises.

Mommy and I have been practicing Santa sounds. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Bathtime

This my new frog bathtub fountain. Great-Mom-mom and I picked it out for my Christmas.
The turtle squirts water when you pull on the red fish.
I like to stick my face in the water. It usually scares me a little bit, but I still like doing it.
Here I am after I'm done getting my face wet. Bathtime is so much fun!
