Today we became members at the
zoo. We only have to visit two and a half times to make it worth while. Mom thought that was quite the deal! With no pressure to see everything in one day, we headed off to just a few sections of the zoo.
Of course, we stopped to feed the giraffes. I had to show Jack how to do it. He did a great job giving the giraffe his cracker.

On our way to find the hippos, we stopped by the American Beavers. They were busy moving sticks around while the zoo keeper cleaned their habitat. We asked and learned that the beavers are named Scooter and Duncan. We decided beavers are quite cute.

We found the hippos after learning they had been moved outside for the summer. Did you know hippos have belly buttons? Neither did we. Good thing that hippo rolled over so we would know!

Jack wasn't all that sure about the hippos. He held on tight to Auntie Julia.

Monkeys, on the other hand, well, Jack LOVED the monkeys! He really seemed to like the cute little baby one the very best. Jack laughed out loud when he saw that baby monkey bite his mommy monkey on the back. Jack could relate to a fellow biting friend!

We decided to head to the petting part of the zoo before calling it a day. The goats were so soft.

Then we ran through the giant garden hose mister. Playing in water is always a good time.

We still have a lot of the zoo left to see, so we'll be heading back soon...

What a good idea to become members of that excellent zoo! The guys will never forget this summer.
I printed the photo of the boys running through the giant hose. It looks so much fun. It's now on my fridge.
