Today's Trip to the Zoo, Part 1

This morning Mom said we were heading to the zoo once again. "Yay," we yelled! We looked over our zoo map at breakfast and decided that today's mission was to find bears.
Not-so-lucky for Mom, the bears are at the top of the zoo. We didn't feel like walking. Mom pushed us (33+22 lbs) and our 17-pound stroller up to the top of the zoo. Let's just say she was very happy there was a bench at the bear exhibit. She (along with Jack and me) was not happy about the bears hiding behind their rocks. Those silly bears would not come out! I was sure the bears would come out and swim in their "lake" and catch a trout. I was wrong.

The zoo keeper told us that there were two more bear exhibits located near the front of the zoo at the bottom of the mountain. We headed down, and on our way we saw...

A baby albino wallaby. Only 1 in 250,000 baby wallabies is albino; we felt lucky to see one.

We stopped in to feed a few parakeets. The zoo glues bird seed to popsicle sticks so kids can feed the cute little birds.

Jack kept yelling, "Birds come here," and scaring the birds. Mom took his stick away and used it to catch a bird so I could feed one up close. She also told Jack to use his quiet bird voice. He did.

Then we continued our hunt for the bears...
