"Chick-a-lay"

On our way to church we met our friend Anna at Chick-fil-a (pronounced "chick-a-lay" by me). It's a fast-food resturant that actually has real fruits and vegetables on the menu. Plus the food is really yummy and the prizes in the toddlers' meals are books. The books are usually stories about learning good character traits. All-in-all, it's a great place to eat and play.

And, well, they have yummy french fries!

After I ate, it was time to play on the playground. Here I am crawling in the tubes...

...and in the wheel of the car...

...and coming down the slide.

Since it felt really cold outside today, I'm glad I got to go to the inside playground.

Benji

This morning we went to meet Charlotte's new puppy. Actually he's not really Charlotte's puppy. Benji-the-puppy belongs to Charlotte's grandparents. Since they travel a lot, Charlotte is taking care of Benji for a few months.
Benji is sure cute! He's the same kind of dog as Norah and Bosley (Charlotte's dog who is Norah's brother), and he's the funnest ball of fur there ever was! Well, except for the one time Jack grabbed Benji's ear and made him squeal!
Charlotte said I could come play with Benji any time, so I'm thinking about going for another visit right after naptime. Mommy said another day might be better...

Thank You Notes

We received lots of fun things this Christmas, and one way we show appreciation is by sending thank you notes. First Mommy wrote, and then I wrote a little bit...

Apparently Jack doesn't like thank you notes. This was the face he gave Mommy when she turned around to pick him up after the notes were written.

Still, even sad, our baby is super cute!

The Rest of Dad's Birthday

After naptime, the cake was cool and ready to frost. We frosted the cake with yummy chocolate frosting, and then I sprinkled on the sprinkles.

Candles came next. Mommy said I could put them on the cake. I know Dad turned 33, but I only felt like putting on 13 candles.

After what seemed like 15 hours, Dad finally came home from work so we could eat dinner and have cake. Dad needed a little help blowing out the candles; I was more than willing to help!

We got the candles blown out after a lot of huffing and puffing, and then we ate cake!

Mommy told Dad he could pick a birthday activity, and he picked game playing. Dad got a new game called Ticket to Ride (European version-Get ready to play in June Uncle John and Aunt Elizabeth!). Our friends Mark and Joy love to play games (and they don't mind coming to our house so Mom and Dad don't have to get a babysitter), so we had them come over. They came just in time for a quick game of Hulabaloo with me before I had to go to bed. "Put your elbow on the yellow elephant!"

If you ask me, I think Dad had a pretty good birthday!

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Today is my Daddy's birthday!
Dad left for work early this morning. Good thing, cause Jack and I had stuff to do! So far we've baked a cake and written in cards. Jack chatted with Mommy and I while we baked. He has lots of stuff to say! See him talking?

While Jack was "saucer-ing", I counted eggs...one, two, three! "Yep, they're all in, Mommy!" I even got to crack one of the eggs.

Stay tuned because after naps we're frosting and sprinkling the cake...then there's candles to put on and blow out...birthday dinner to make...presents to open... What a day we're having!
