Norah and the Giant Tomato

Wowzers! My little buddy Norah got in HUGE trouble yesterday! Remember my mom's garden--I wrote about it a few weeks back. Well, Norah has discovered home-grown tomatoes, and she loves them. She is such a smart puppy, because she knows how to pick the perfect tomato.

Yesterday Norah was outside and out of sight. My mom was looking and looking and calling and calling, and finally she found Norah! That silly dog was hiding between the garden box and the fence eating a giant tomato she had picked all by herself.

Almost half of the tomato was gone, and Norah had lots of juice running down her face. My mom took the remainder of the tomato away from Norah. I think she was afraid Norah might get a tummy ache. Then they came in the house. After Norah's talking to, my mom took a picture. Norah even had a seed stuck in one of her teeth, but it didn't show up in the photo. What a silly dog! Posted by Picasa

My Crib

Yesterday my crib arrived! It's in a huge box in the hallway. My dad is out of town and my mom can't move the box by herself to get it open in order to put the crib together. Plus, if she tries, she thinks my dad will get mad cause he doesn't like her to do heavy stuff! He's rather protective of me and my mom.

Still, I'm very excited. My buddy Norah can't quite figure out what is happening with the box. She knows it's not supposed to be in the hallway, so she sometimes runs over to bark and growl at the big cardboard package. Then she runs back to tell my mom to move it. Norah's vocabulary is rather limited, and she doesn't always understand all of the words my mom uses. It's a good thing I'm coming into the world soon, cause I'll be able to help with their communication.

One more thing...tonight is the night my girlfriend Ava is going to be born! (Remember her parents were the people my mom and dad had the garage sale with.) We're going to visit her at the hospital tomorrow.

Overcast Skies and Coffee

Today was the kind of day my mom calls "a beautiful day". It was sixty-five degrees and overcast. My mom says not everyone likes these kinds of days, but they are her and my dad's favorite kinds of days.

To celebrate the "beautiful day", we got up quite early; my mom said it would be a waste to miss any of it as "beautiful days" are usually nonexistent in Arkansas during the month of July. So, after getting up early, we met my friend Jonathan and his mom for coffee. On the way back home, my mom told me it felt kind of like we were living in the West with the morning events of overcast skies and coffee. And then she sighed... I think days like today might make my mom really miss the West.

A few of my new things!

This is my new changing table. It came by UPS this week, and my mom put it together. It's where my dad (my mom is hoping) will change my diapers and where my mom will get me dressed. My mom says she prefers the "clean" tasks. Plus she really likes clothes. Between you and me, I think she thinks the reason I'm coming into the world is for her to have someone new to dress!

I'm getting a new shelf in my room when my Uncle Jamey comes to visit. He's going to help my mom with the project. Until then, some of my cute Peter Rabbit things are on the changing table shelves. My mom thinks she might get some baskets for the changing table shelves once the wall shelf is up and decorated. Posted by Picasa

The guests at my California shower were so generous! I was given quite a few gift cards. My mom thought I should put a few pictures on my blog to show the purchases I put the gift cards towards.

Here's my new high chair. My Aunt Julia, Grandma Lou, and my dad put it together. My mom and I were at work, and we can't believe it took three grown-ups HOURS to put it together. Hum...

The changing table is in the next picture, and we're still waiting on the crib to come. Thank you to all of my California relatives and friends! Posted by Picasa
