A Stay-home Day

After the events of yesterday, we decided to stay home today. I'm feeling TONS better, so Jack and I built a few towers.
Jack gets so happy when the towers crash!
Towers destroyed, we moved on to playing penguins. This is our nest of ice cubes. We're hiding underneath all the "cubes". I told Mom the "ice cubes keep penguins snuggly warm."
Sometimes a person just needs a stay-home day.

Sick...again...

It seems I caught another virus...
And, it seems Mom has more laundry to do...
This spring has not been my lucky spring...
Jack, however, seems to have an immune system like none other!
And that makes Mom happy!

While Mom was away...

That's right! Mom was away for a night this weekend. On Friday night, our Mom headed to a hotel for a night of blissful sleep and some alone shopping. She had a great time.
These are the pictures she found on the camera when she returned home.
It seems Dad took Jack and me to the cafe...
...in our jammies...
...to play dominoes!

Feeling Sorry for Herself

This morning Mom was feeling a little bit sorry for herself. She heard through the email grapevine that Aunt Andrea, cousin Noah, Aunt Amy, cousin Lilly, and Great-Mom-mom were all going on a fun outing to the zoo this afternoon. She sure wished we could join them...but we live TOO far away!

Mom told me about our cousins' plans, and I ran to get our zoo animals (a.k.a. Noah's Ark animals). Mom ran for the camera.
She told us to make really sad faces. We tried really hard to look left out and pathetic. All the pretend sadness made us laugh!
And, Noah and Lilly, next time we're out in the great state of California, let's hit the zoo!!! Okay? In the meantime, we hope you had a TERRIFIC day today!

"Song, Mama"

Jack woke up quite a bit before I woke up from naptime today, so he and Mom had some "just them" time together. When asked what he wanted to do, Jack said, "Song, Mama." So Mom sat him on the desk and pulled up the songs (we keep them on our computer). Jack listened and hummed away...
It seems Jack had two favorite songs today. "Gain," said Jack. And, yet again Mom would play either Ladybug Picnic sung by Elizabeth Mitchell or I Love Trash sung by none other than the furry green monster named Oscar the Grouch. It seems my little brother appreciates redundancy.
