Manna from Heaven

At both church and at bible study, I've been learning about Moses. I keep asking Mom when we're going to get to the manna story. We finally got there this morning. At bible study we learned all about how God provided for the Israelites by sending them manna from heaven.

Best of all, each kid in my class was given a bag of "manna" (cotton balls) to take home. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon making the manna "fall from heaven" and gathering it up.
After I tossed the manna around my room, I picked up the pieces and put them in my "manna sack".
See? My bag is all full! I'm ready to "eat" my God-provided, desert snack.
Did you know the Bible says manna tasted like honey? "I'll bet it was tasty," I told Mom as we pretended to eat our fluffy manna.

What a difference a day makes...

...twenty-four little hours...
Last night after Jack was in bed, there was a loud crash followed by screaming. Dad ran in to Jack's room to see what had happened. All we can figure is Jack was trying to escape from his crib, instead of sleeping, and fell.
We're just glad Jackie-boy is okay and still in one piece!

Pretending

This morning I pretended I was a mama. Mom asked why I was a mama and not a dad (she asked because the other day we had a long conversation about how moms are girls and dads are boys). I told her it was because my babies were hungry, and that dads don't feed their babies. Dads wrestle with their babies. My babies were hungry, so they needed a mama. Here's the bed I built for my three babies. They slept so cozy in their little crib.
Jack played mama for a while, but then he moved on to other things.
Like climbing on the kitchen table.
And finding a puddle in the bathtub and getting his clothes all wet.
My little brother sure keeps us hopping!
And he gives great hugs and kisses.
Everyone should have a Jack at their house.

Polka Dots

As Mom was getting ready today, I told her this...

Mama, you smell good. You smell like polka dots.

And then my Mommy told me I was the sweetest boy ever.

Building Race Cars

Yesterday morning, we headed to our home improvement store. We heard they had free building projects for kids a couple times a month on Saturday mornings. It sounded like fun, so we headed on over to give it a whirl.

Apron and goggles on, Dad helped me build my race car.
Mom helped Jack. He did not like his goggles.
He did, however, like the hammer. He kept banging on everything. His race car is quite dented.
After all the pieces were hammered together, it was time to stick on the stickers.
What a fun time we had!
We're going to do this again!

And now for a bit of advertising... If you are between the ages of 2-5, click here to find out how you can build things, too! Next time we're making tabletop basketball hoops for March Madness. Fun, fun, fun!!!
