One Month Old

Today is Jack's one-month birthday. He celebrated by taking a few good naps. Yep, Jack is getting the hang of daytime napping. And that seems to be helping his nighttime sleeping. We're all pretty happy about that! "There is hope for the future," says Mommy.

Isn't my baby brother sweet? We like to watch him sleep. However, we have to watch very quietly, cause once Jack is asleep, we don't want to disturb him.

Here's Jack and Great-Mom-mom. Great-Mom-mom sure is having fun holding her Arkansas boys. And we're sure glad she's here. We're also glad she made us a yummy roast with carrots and potatoes and gravy for dinner tonight. Yum!

In order for us to have the roast, I had to not only show Great-Mom-mom where the roasts were at the grocery store, I also had to show her how to get to the grocery store. I am such a helper! And, unlike Mommy, Great-Mom-mom let me help push the shopping cart!

Mommy thought I might like to pose for a picture with Great-Mom-mom, but I didn't really feel like it. I'm almost two; that means I'm starting to have my own opinions about things. Today it was about pictures. I thought driving my new cars sounded more fun.

Maybe tomorrow there will be a picture of me and Great-Mom-mom. But you never know... It all depends on how I feel...

She's here!

Great-Mom-mom is HERE!!! We're all back at the house, but Mommy forgot to take pictures of me, Jack, and Great-Mom-mom. You see, our good family friends Dick and Rayetta sent me some chocolate in Great-Mom-mom's suitcase. Chocolate equals camera distraction! The chocolate was shaped like a clown and was wrapped in bright colored foil. It was VERY yummy! Until the clown, I'd never had that much chocolate at one time. Let me tell you, that much chocolate is a good thing!

Waiting...

Dad and I are at the airport picking up Great-Mom-mom. Mommy and Jack are at home getting ready. One of the things Jack has to do is get his "I Love Grandma" shirt on...

And now Jack and Mommy are waiting...

...and waiting...

...and waiting...

A Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful day. I decided to sit outside while I drank my water.

Then I decided to climb the fence...
Fence climbing is rather fun...and challenging...
Pretty soon I had to go back inside to get ready for church. We decided tonight was a good night to introduce Jack to Saturday Night Church. Jack is too little to go to a class, so he got to go to the service with Mommy and Daddy. As long as Uncle Seth (he's one of our music pastors) was up front playing the guitar and singing, Jack liked church. However, he didn't really like the talking part. Mommy ended up sitting in the foyer with Jack until church was over, and I was finished with my class. Usually after church I go up on stage to check out Uncle Seth's guitar, but tonight we had to head straight home so Jack could have more milk. I was kind of bummed, but I think, if I ask real nice, Uncle Seth would be happy to show me his guitar any time.

And now, I have to go to sleep. Great-Mom-mom comes in tomorrow, and I must be rested!

Adding a Verse

Lately my favorite song has been "The Wheels on the Bus". I'm sure you know the song--it's a great one. There are lots of different verses: "the wheels on the bus go round and round", "the driver on the bus says 'move on back'", "the mommies on the bus say 'I love you'", etc. I know and sing them all.

Well, this morning, I added a verse. While Daddy was changing my morning diaper, I started singing, "The diapers on the bus go change, change, change; change, change, change; change, change, change; the diapers on the bus go change, change, change; all through the town!" Yep, I made up a new verse for the song all by myself!

Of course this impressed my parents. It simply confirmed to them, once again, that I am the smartest big-boy ever. They are so easy to please.
